And What Became of It

I promised a disclosure of Puffin in knit, so here it is. Nautical Signal Flag E pillow.

More signal flag pillows will likely be following in the coming year and making their way onto Etsy. A few improvements will be implemented on the coming pillows, and this one will remain with me. After all, every good product must undergo stress testing. Now to order yarn.

Puffin

Quince & Co. continues to be my favorite yarn source, yet I have tried very little of their selection. Working this chunky yarn (named "Puffin") will be a first for me. I'm already in love just looking at it! What am I making, you ask? You will just have to wait and see.

Update: Since writing this post I have knitted up this yarn. Puffin did not disappoint. Photos will be forthcoming next week.

Kangaroo Fern

Today a neighbor dropped in to buy one of Dad's photograph prints. Our large and lush kangaroo fern caught her eye. Mine too. Which is why I snapped this photo earlier.

Sunday Project

I have a Sunday handwork project. One that isn't a hand.maid.en item. One that is set apart like the day. Today is Monday, but I hope to put the final touches on my Sunday project. And no, I'm not going to tell you what it is yet. I hope to someday enter it into a contest. The rules are that there is no peaking.

Jason & Pie

Jason had a birthday, and on his birthday he ate pie. Lemon meringue made by his wife, to be precise. (This is sounding familiar.)

On a side note, Hannah and I ate dairy and grain-free pumpkin "cheesecake" with freshly churned coconut milk ice cream.

101 + 58

Last Sunday we celebrated a lot of years. One hundred and one years for Grandpa. Fifty-eight years for Dorothy. We missed Grandma who would have been ninety-eight on the same day.

I was praying Grandpa would feel well to enjoy his birthday. God answered and gave him a good dream instead of the bad that have made for many unsettled days of late. Dreams seem like reality to Grandpa, and so he told me in an animated tone that he had a really good meal of roast duck that day. The staff informed us that the noon menu was ham and raisin sauce. I would go for the roast duck, especially if Grandma made it.

(Yes, I am wearing a mask. Hannah and I find carbon filter masks a help in days of extreme sensitivity to fragrances.)

Dorothy had a sleepy, unwell day. A bit of cake and ice cream and giant balloon were about all she comprehended of her special day. Our sweet girl!
