My bag of crocheting goes everywhere with me right now... even to the Sam's Club parking lot.

Breakfast Solved
I have a strange relationship with breakfast. On one hand it excites me. After all, I am hungry after a night of fasting. On the other hand I often lose my apetite and energy to digest by the time breakfast rolls around after getting myself ready for the day while ingesting multiple medications and herbs that must be spaced apart on an empty stomach.
One day last week I hit upon the perfect combination of digestible and delicious breakfast foods. Left-over broiled cod, Dad's homemade sauerkraut and a small mug of golden milk (coconut milk, turmeric and other spices). I have revisited this breakfast a few times since.

Loose Ends
My life has one less loose end in it. Actually, I wove in many loose ends in a more than fifteen year in the making project. Fairly well knit but poorly joined blocks now sport a charming picot border creating a shabby but happy doll blanket.

Hannah's Baby Geranium
After a few winters of lugging our largest terra-cotta pot indoors, we decided to let our giant geranium go the way of all warm blooded plants come frost. But first Hannah had to get a few clippings. One of those clippings put out a few roots, and after being planted recently what do you think we should find? A single bud that unfurled into this salmon colored blossom. Good job, Baby Geranium!

Sunday Walk
This week's Sunday walk led me to the grain bin triplets. They no longer house grain and are officially named Maren, Hannah and Elsa. Hannah is pictured.

All In a Day's Sorting
Mom and Hannah made the plunge into the big bin of storage in our basement in preparation to send stored belongings to a missionary friend returned to the States. My childhood "Going To Grandma's" miniature suitcase was discovered and inside a trove of childhood creativity.
A contraption with which to use Morse Code - made from a check box, broken model airplane propeller, broken headband and broken balloon. I can't quite call this machine a telegraph, because messages can't be sent any further than earshot of the contraption.
Crowns which once adorned the brows of Hint and Sprint, cousins in the stuffed animal world
Tracings and drawings
A secret message holder
Car for beloved stuffed animals and possibly a Barbie or two

Finished
I can no longer call my sweater knitting project eternal, because it is completed... in less than a year at that.

Freezing Rain
Christmas brought with it an ice storm this year. This is what our driveway looked like afterwards... and still does under a coating of snow.

Sister Day Two
Planned long ago by Hannah, the event manager, was a card making day with Maren. We now have cards coming out of our ears and a slimmer (I didn't say "slim") stash of scraps-of-potential.

Sisters Day One
It had been a long time since we'd made it Maren's way. Christmas vacation gave we-three-sisters the opportunity to do just that. Enjoyment included eating off of special china, visiting and working on our crafts.
Hannah conquered a pair of beautiful socks. Well, nearly. She did have to unknit and give the binding a little more slack the next day.
Then she moved on to tracing LuoPads to help fulfill hand.maid.en's donation. (One item sold on our Etsy shop means one LuoPad sewn and donated.)
Maren made finger puppets for a friend who is at this moment using them on a mission trip.
Though there are no pictures, I chipped away at the eternal sweater project.

Morning Walk
A walk used to be my favorite way to wake up in the morning. It has been over three years since my last walk in the morning air. Today I decided to give it a try. Short, yes. Invigorating, yes. Cold, yes! And a letter got mailed, too.
